Fiona Krüger is a designer that creates and develops watch projects of an outstanding intricacy and precision. For her graduation thesis, she designed a series of unusual and very creative watches called “Memento Mori”. The timepieces envision the concept of our transient life through time and also pays tribute to the Mexican holiday, “Day of the dead” (Dia de los muertos).
The watch case has the shape of a skull, fashioned in solid silver and mineral hand cut glass, all engraved by hand. The dial is made from gold and rhodium plated brass which has been laser cut and engraved. Blued steel hands of the clock move by a ETA 2824 mechanism over the skull watch face. “Momento Mori” is fastened to one’s wrist by a blued calf leather band with a silver buckle. (via Beautifullife)
