A dream within a dream within a dream? How about a chair within a chair within a chair? Designer Vivian Chiu had this amazing idea of creating a chair and placing within it chairs that are progressively smaller. Each chair has hand cut grooves on the inside edges of its seat frame as well as notches in the seat back. The mechanism is relatively simple and it allows the chairs to be taken apart and put together very easy.
Vivian Chiu graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in the Furniture Design department. She was born in Los Angeles and raised in Hong Kong, where, surrounded by the urban landscape, she learned to appreciate simple forms and organic materials. She values hard work, constantly pushing her physical and mental boundaries with all her designs. She gets her inspiration from artists like Martin Puryear, Anish Kapoor, Tom Friedman and Richard Sweeney.
