“My name is Boey and I draw on cups.” This is how Malaysian artist Cheeming Boey modestly presents himself. But it takes only a quick look to see that his art is not all that. The US-based artist is an illustrator, animator, blogger and author, who developed his unique style by using disposable coffee cups as canvas for his intricate drawings.

His cups range from a couple of hundred bucks to a couple of thousand, depending on their complexity and time the artist needs to complete them.

So far, the artist was awarded with a TED award, for Ads Worth Spreading, Malaysia’s Man of the year, 2011 and 2012, ArtistADay, illustrator of the year, 2012. He also published a book of comics based on his childhood, When I was a Kid.
